Andrea Caswell

Position: Owner, Coach

As a military spouse who has lived in many places in the United States and internationally, coach Andrea has volunteered, coached, and directed various cheerleading programs for over 20 years.

Many families local to Dover, Delaware, may already know Andrea from her volunteer work within local organizations/programs.

In February 2019, Andrea and her husband, David, opened Fly High Cheer and Tumble, L.L.C. The business is a family blend of unmatched coaching experience steeped in the values of integrity, service, and excellence, which the owners embrace after living and learning alongside Air Force families for over 20 years.

While fielding various levels of competitive all-star cheer teams in Fly High’s inaugural competition season,  Andrea has a passionate goal to help area schools throughout Delaware and the tri-state area grow to have more robust, competitive programs by:

  • stressing the importance of safety in the sport of cheerleading;
  • learning proper techniques;
  • learning the adequate progression (no advancement without completing all skills within each respective skill level); and
  • teaching the fundamentals of cheer, stunting, and tumbling.

Andrea’s coaching experience and credentials

  • She coached throughout the U.S. and Europe for 23 years.
  • Coached recreation, middle and high school, college, competitive and all-star teams.
  • 2016-2018 Coached Team Italy for the 2018 International Worlds.

Cheerleading experience:

  • Fly High Cheer and Tumble (2019-current)
    • I have achieved up to level 6  (Delaware’s first Non-Tumbling worlds team) throughout my years of all-star cheerleading. While competing over the states, my teams earned many first-place and national titles throughout the pandemic.
  • Caesar Rodney High School- Varsity (4 Years – Captain Senior Year)
    • I cheered throughout all basketball, football, and wrestling seasons for both home and away and competed nationwide for all-girl and coed divisions competition styles. I performed as a primary base, side base, and back spot throughout my four years. My teams won multiple national, regional, and first-place titles.
    • I have attended multiple U.C.A. camps and achieved the “U.C.A. All-American Cheerleader” title during my senior year (2021-2022).
    • I was hand-picked to be a D.F.R.C. Blue Gold All-Star cheerleader (2022) and was chosen to be a team captain. As the gold team, we performed at half time, competition style, at the University of Delaware stadium for the 66th annual All-Star football game. Throughout the game, we performed many dances, stunt sequences, and 30+ sideline cheers,

 Coaching experience:

  • Postlethwait Middle School (2018-2019)
    • When I was 14, I was a junior assistant coach for the winter season. I assisted with creating stunt and dance routines while teaching and helping with jump, motion, and stunting techniques.
  • Fly High Cheer and Tumble (2020-current)
    • I have coached level 1, ranging from tiny-youth divisions, and enjoyed every bit. I started junior coaching for all-star cheerleading at age 15; then, I worked my way up to being a coach for this 2022-2023 season. Throughout this, my teams have one a U.S. finals first-place title and other first-place awards throughout the pandemic of COVID-19.

Matt has been part of the fitness community for over 20 years as a personal trainer, competitor, gym member, and CrossFit trainer. Matt has been a Crossfit Level 1 Trainer for ten years. He has had his training certificate for 18 years and is enthusiastic about working with children and adults. Coach Matt uses his career as an elementary school teacher to get the youth excited about getting fit. Having two children of his own, he knows how to relate to and motivate young athletes in a fun and challenging way.
